We have the most gorgeous Oak in our front yard which harbors the most interesting flora and fauna...baby squirrels, baby toads, Smurf mushrooms, and dainty moss. This little dude was carefully placed in this Smurf mushroom (I named it that) for a cute photo; he seemed to like it though and stayed awhile afterwards.
Long ago someone impaled it's beautiful trunk with metal spikes. We left them there as we've heard it could cause further damage if they were removed....is this true?
